TRANSPORTATION OF ISTHMIA BRIDGE | FROM CORINTH CANAL TO SALAMIS SHIPYARD FOR MAINTENANCE & REPAIRS
PMS S.A. DID IT AGAIN!
On Monday, 16th July 2018, PMS S.A. took over the transportation of Isthmia Bridge from Corinth Canal to Salamis Shipyard for maintenance and repairs.
BRIDGE WEIGHT: 120 MT
BRIDGE LENGTH: 37 M
BRIDGE WIDTH: 15 M
Bridge was lifted by the barge, as you may see in the photo below.
By unballasting the barge, bridge was lifted in the necessary height in order to be unlocked from each position and, afterwards, it was transported to Salamis Shipyard.
Previously, the bridge was dismantled at site and then transported in pieces.
On Monday, 12th November 2018, and after a thorough inspection by the classification society, which led to a few changes regarding the reinforcement of the bridge as well as replacing the deck, the bridge returned to each position in order to serve the residents of Isthmia.
The paint protection guaranty provided is 10 years!
